Did you know that there’s free dental care for teenagers until they turn 18 years of age?
Make sure you take advantage of this FREE service while you can!
Which services fall under free dental care?
We are contracted by the district health board to provide this service. Basic and necessary dental care is provided free in our clinic. This does not include orthodontic care, tooth whitening, or accidents which would normally be covered by ACC. Certain treatments, such as white fillings, might not be free. Make sure you check with us first.
Free services include:
- One free check-up every year
- Cleaning your teeth once a year
- Fillings due to decay
- Extraction of teeth due to decay or an abscess
- Root canals (not ACC related)
You must be a New Zealand citizen or permanent resident and be between year 9 (13 years old) and under 18 years old to receive free dental care.
If your child is under 13 years old, then we are able to see them for emergency dental treatment if you cannot access the school dental service after school or during school holidays. Please call 0800 TALK TEETH for the nearest school dental nurse near you.
